LISA WASHINGTON

I was born in Augusta, Georgia. At the age of five, my family moved to New York City. Growing up in New York taught me how to be independent at a very young age. I remember knowing how to catch the subway by myself before I was ten years old. I was braiding hair in the neighborhood at the age of seven for $5.00. My family moved back to Augusta, Georgia when I was thirteen.

I joined the US Navy in 1988 and finished hospital corpsman school. My first assignment was working in intensive care. In 1990, I completed operating room technician school in the US Navy. I stayed in the Navy for nine years. My last assignment there was the hospital ship the USNS Comfort, stationed in Baltimore, MD.

After leaving the Navy in 1997, I decided to stay in Maryland. I supported my family for 17 years as an operating room technician. In May 2007, I graduated as a registered nurse from Prince Georges Community College in Largo MD. I received my Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) in 2012. I completed an online program with Jacksonville University in Florida.

I love bargain shopping and finding expensive items at cheap prices. I am bargain Bougie. I also love singing in my church choir.
