MAXINE HENRY

Evangelist Maxine Henry was born to Harold and Rovetta Johnson on September 17, 1977, in Los Angeles, CA and is the youngest of three children. In the summer of 1984, Maxine arrived in Bakersfield, CA where she grew into the woman of God she is today.

Evangelist Henry has been married to her husband and best friend, Elder Roger Henry, Jr. for almost a decade and together they have six children and eight “Mini Mees.”

Evangelist Henry has a Bachelors of Science degree in Industrial Psychology and works in the accounting field as a Pension Plan Administrator for a local CPA firm.

Evangelist Henry came to Christ at the age of 19. Accepting Him as her Lord and Savior, she was baptized in the Name of Jesus, filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost and do speak in tongues as the Spirit of God gives her utterance and the fruits of the Spirit of God are evident in her life. She has a passion for souls and believes one cannot make an informed decision to submit his life to Christ without first hearing the truth about who God really is and the sacrifice He made by sending His Son.

Evangelist Henry is submitted to the leadership of Bishop Vernon R. and Lady Vicki Kemp L. Kemp at Greater Harvest Christian Center Bakersfield where she serves as a Sunday School teacher for both the youth and women’s classes. Evangelist Henry volunteered on Greater Harvest’s financial team an after approximately 3 years of faithful service, was promoted to the position of church financial controller. It is under this same leadership that she received her evangelist license in 2016 realizing that growth at “The Harvest” is inevitable. Despite her areas of service, she is in her words, “Just a servant.”

In her spare time, Evangelist Henry likes to spend time with her family. She loves traveling & fine dining. Reading is her past-time and writing is her getaway.

Her favorite quote is, “Change the way you think and you will change the way you act.”

Her favorite of scripture is found in Jude 24; ‘Now unto Him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,” and is of the mindset that “We don’t have to sin, we choose to.”
