KATHERINE ELAM SIMPSON
Evangelist Katherine Elam Simpson was born and raised in the inner city of Watts, Los Angeles. Her childhood was filled with difficult times. It was the love she shared with her siblings that enabled her to cope with alcoholic and drug-addicted parents. Little did Katherine know that the Lord had a plan for her life.
Still wounded and hurting from her childhood trauma, Katherine became involved in a lifestyle that nearly killed her. In 1986, she experienced the unexpected death of her five-year-old daughter, Kuleshia. The Lord began the process of turning her life around. Years later Katherine rededicated her life to the Lord.
Katherine answered the call from the Lord by enrolling in the Saints of Value World Ministries Training Center, where she graduated as an ordained minister. Continuing her education at Esther Mallett International Bible University in 2002, Katherine graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biblical theology.
Katherine is a vibrant and charismatic minister. She is noted for her soul-stirring messages and practical application of Christian principles. Through her evangelistic messages at church events, revivals, women’s conferences, and Sunday morning worship services as the co-pastor of New Region For Christ, the Lord uses her to preach the gospel to hurting, neglected, and spiritually dying people. She brings a message of hope that “you can make it.” Katherine has been endorsed by many great and influential leaders including her spiritual father and mentor, the late Edward T. Robinson Sr. and Elder Cardell Candler, respectively.
Aside from her ministerial duties, Katherine is the proud wife of Pastor LaFrance Simpson. Together they are the parents of five wonderful children. She is also the founder of Women Waving the Banner of Freedom (WWTBOF). This ministry conducts annual conferences and has a thriving mentorship program that “Builds stronger women God’s way.” Her ministry is setting a precedence of excellence, power, and grace.
