DR. NIESHA DAVIS-MASSEY, THD, LCSW
Dr. Niesha Davis-Massey, ThD, LCSW, is a passionate advocate for mental and emotional health and wellness. In addition to her work in mental health, she is a Licensed Evangelist who believes in the powerful intersection of faith and mental health—recognizing that the two go hand in hand. As a trauma psychotherapist, consultant, motivational speaker, trauma healing coach, and facilitator, Dr. Davis-Massey brings more than 20 years of experience in psychotherapy, human services, case management, and social work. Her commitment to healing and empowerment is evident in every facet of her work. She is the Owner and Clinical Director of InspireMe Counseling and Wellness Center and InspireMe Counseling and Psychotherapy, Inc., where she leads with compassion, expertise, and a deep-rooted mission to inspire holistic healing.
She is the author of Your Story Does Not Define You: A Healing Journey from Trauma Through Expression and Self-Affirmation, which empowers readers to reclaim their narratives and embrace healing and personal growth. Dr. Davis-Massey is also the creator and host of Your Story Does Not Define You: The Podcast, where she guides conversations that help listeners embrace their stories and find hope and healing from past hurt and pain.
Dr. Davis-Massey holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, a Master’s in Social Work, and a Doctorate in Theology with an emphasis on Christian Counseling. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Evangelist, Certified Anger Management Specialist II, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. She is also certified as a mental health provider for women experiencing perinatal and postnatal mood disorders.
A native of Bakersfield, California, Dr. Davis-Massey has made a lasting impact in her community through strategic collaborations, community outreach, and the facilitation of wellness-focused workshops. She has also been blessed with opportunities to preach and teach the Word of God, seamlessly integrating spiritual guidance with education on mental and emotional health within her church community.
Dr. Davis-Massey’s clinical and spiritual reach spans a wide spectrum. She has worked extensively with individuals, children, youth, adults, couples, and families across diverse settings—including private practice, medical social work, psychiatric facilities, corrections, hospice care, and educational settings. Her comprehensive background includes experience in Child Protective Services, group homes, family resource centers, developmental disability services, adolescent care, and specialized support for single mothers and pregnant women.
Dr. Davis-Massey’s passion for trauma work fuels her compassion for helping others navigate life’s challenges and build resilience. She believes in the power of connection, trust, and safe spaces for healing, and she lifts her clients up in prayer behind the scenes. Her guiding philosophy is, “It’s okay not to be okay. Everyone needs someone who can provide hope, courage, strength, and support during difficult times.” Dr. Davis-Massey feels blessed to be that person for so many.
Through her therapeutic trauma work and as a healing coach, Dr. Davis-Massey empowers clients with tools to enhance their quality of life and transition from surviving to thriving by embracing mental and emotional healing. She is committed to breaking the stigma surrounding mental and emotional health and encourages individuals to seek professional help when needed.
